Cancer as a Blessing

Cancer as a Blessing

By: Squeekie Stoddard Waters

Have you ever thought of Stage IV Cancer as a blessing? Oddly enough after being on an emotional roller coaster ride and learning that I have Stage IV Breast Cancer, that is how I have begun to see this deadly, painful disease. I have witnessed so many acts of kindness, godliness, goodness, and yes, possibly even a miracle or two since I learned that I have this cancer that could possibly end my life within the year. In fact, I'm actually somewhat thankful to have it because I have seen God working in someone that I love very much in a way that only HE can! Whatever the reason is for me to have this cancer and all this pain, I know it's part of God's greater plan. Yes, things may seem horrible right now, but sometimes God uses drastic measures to get our attention and sometimes he uses others to get our attention and sometimes He uses a combination of both. Whatever His plan is, I know it is a perfect plan and I praise Him for it and give Him all the glory for all of it!

I was thinking the other day how it must have been in Jesus's day when He would go from place to place teaching. I was thinking about the people who did anything they could just to get to Him so they could be healed. I can really put myself in their sandals right now. What I'm about to admit is silly and stupid, but it kind of illustrates the point I'm trying to make here. Okay. I'm a big Duck Dynasty fan. I was trying to think of ways that I might could get the Robertson family to pray with me. Then I thought to myself, "Why the Robertsons?" One reason I thought was because of their faith, but then I (got my head out of the clouds) and realized that my faith and the faith of my church family and friends is as good as theirs. Besides, my friends and church family actually KNOW me. I realized then that it must be that "rock star effect". It hit me though. This is probably very much what the people back then must have felt like. Of course I was hoping for prayer with famous Christian people. The people back then were seeking Jesus Christ HIMSELF....the one who could actually perform the miracle for them! I'll blame my lapse of cognitive processing on the pain medicine but it was pretty cool to feel how the people back then may have felt. I would have been just like them seeking out Jesus to rid me of this disease. I guess Jesus was the "rock star" of His time.

I don't know what my future holds for me, but I don't have to know. God knows and that's all that matters. I have recently begun treatment and God is in complete control. I know He is because I have given it all over to Him. Oh sure. I may still have my days of doubt, but it will be doubt of myself or doubt of something "earthly" and not doubt in God. I'm sure I'll be on that roller coaster again, but deep in my heart, I will know He'll be right there with me.

So I choose to see my cancer as a blessing and not a death sentence. I pray for God to use me and use this disease for His glory however He sees fit. My body may be broken and weak, but my faith and my spirit is still very much in tact and has never been stronger. I thank Him for giving me such a strong support system with all of my church family, my friends (face to face and facebook), and my family (the ones that DO care). I thank Jesus for defeating death so that I can LIVE without fear of death.

Stage IV Cancer - a blessing?
Who knew?

NOTE: Squeekie is my friend from High School and College. Although, we have not always been close friends there is no way to know her and not consider her a good friend. She is one of the most positive and upbeat people that I know. She has a passion for issues close to her heart and has such a way with words. She has two grown boys and a young daughter. I haven't met her husband, but he has to be a pretty great guy to be with Squeekie. Please keep her in your prayers as she battles this monster that continues to ravage families on a daily basis. God Bless Squeeks and thank you so much for this message of strength.

Muslim Brotherhood and Homeland Security….Have We Been Infiltrated?

Former CIA agent, Clare Lopez, has accused Obama of allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate our National Government. Coming from a former agent who has held many senior positions it would a wise decision, in my opinion, to pay this charge some regard. The fact that she has the courage to speak up while Congress remains quiet is chilling. Congress should stomp to the White House to drag his treasonous tail out the door!

The citizen’s vote is their “power”. In order to exercise this vote we need knowledge. Many have heard about Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s right hand advisor, but what do you know about Mohammed Elibiary a Senior Advisor to Homeland Security? With about forty-five minutes of clicking around I have found more than enough information to make me question WHY this man is an advisor to Homeland Security. WHY do our National Security Advisors have questionable ties to the very people who despise and want to kill us?

According to Homeland Security’s website, this guy is just a dandy little citizen. I’ve posted his bio according to them below.

Mohamed Elibiary, Founder, Lone Star Intelligence, LLC
Mohamed Elibiary is the founder of Lone Star Intelligence, LLC.  He has advised numerous Federal, state and local law enforcement organizations on homeland security-related matters.  In 2009, Mr. Elibiary was acknowledged in a Congressional Research Service report for advising the Information Sharing Environment Program Management Office on the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative.  In 2010 he testified before Congress on “Working with Communities to Disrupt Terror Plots.”  In 2011, Mr. Elibiary was awarded the Louis E. Peters Memorial Award, the FBI’s highest public service award for “his extraordinary contributions to specific cases in support of the FBI’s counter terrorism mission.”  In 2012 the Office of the Federal Public Defender, a division of the U.S. Court, recognized Mohamed for his “tremendous service” leveraging his homegrown violent extremism expertise in the United States vs. Daniel Patrick Boyd counter-terrorism case.

Elibiary’s  resume has been wrapped like a nice little package with a beautiful bow, but Elibiary really shows his true nature on Twitter.

In June of 2014 Elibiary was receiving a lot of criticism for tweeting that the recent takeover of Iraqi cities by a very violent terror group was proof that a Muslim “caliphate” was making an “inevitable” return

“As I’ve stated b4. Y’all in the [national security] ubber hawks camp misread 9/11 & should reassess ur belligerence,”

In November 2013 a Twitter user challenged Mr. Elibiary to “show me just ONE example of an Islamic country where non-Muslims are treated with equality.” His responding tweet should send chills down the spine of every American.

“America and yes I do consider the United States of America an Islamic country with an Islamically compliant constitution. Move On!”

With all due respect Mr. Elibiary, our country is NOT an Islamic country. Many brave men and women have sacrificed life and limb in order for fellow Americans to keep their heads, for women to have freedom, children to play without fear of being used as human shields. In fact, those same heroes sacrificed for you to freely practice YOUR religion while I practice mine. You may have an ally in the White House, but I doubt very seriously you will find an ally with this sleeping giant….the AMERICAN people.

Marine Veteran victim of black mob....Hate Crime??

There have been many incidents over the past week that are similar to the situation in Ferguson that did not result in riots or protests, but one that I heard about tonight makes me wonder just what the hell is going on in America.

Saturday night a Veteran Marine, Ralph Weems and Air Force Veteran, David Knighten, attempted to enter a Waffle House in West Point, MS. A patron in the parking lot warned Knighten not to go inside because it was predominately a black crowd and it may not be safe for whites. I have also read other stories that have reported that the group were up-in-arms over the Michael Brown situation. By the time he made it inside Weems was already in an altercation. The cops were called and the two men left. The two men decided to head home, but stopped at a Huddle House that seemed pretty much vacant, only to find that they had been followed by about twenty people from the Waffle House. The chaos escalated and Knighten reportedly tried to diffuse the trouble when a security guard told everyone to leave and go home. As people filed out Knighten found that the door was being blocked and he was prevented from going outside. When he was finally able to get out the door he found Weems on the ground being kicked and beaten. While racial slurs were yelled they turned on him. Knighten reported on a Facebook post that his injuries were minor, but according to www.NOLA.com Weems is in a medically induced coma following brain surgery. One would think that this qualifies as a hate crime, but Sheriff Brinkley states "This does not appear to be a hate crime," he said. "It's very early in this investigation but thus far the evidence and statements suggest that a verbal altercation turned physical and somebody got hurt." At this point I have not seen this hit the national news channels in the manner Ferguson did. I have not seen any protest in the street demanding justice. What is even more appalling to me is the fact that these two guys were VETERANS! They fought for whites and blacks to enjoy the freedoms of congregating in a Waffle House and having the freedom to even have an opinion. Wow....what gratitude!

News of a white cop shooting an unarmed black man hit the news in a flash. Although I was not there when Michael Brown and Officer Darren Wilson's path crossed, I do have enough common sense to wait for the facts before vilifying a cop trying to do his job. Facts started slowly slipping out that Michael Brown had just robbed a store before coming across Officer Wilson, and also that Officer Wilson sustained serious facial injuries. He didn't sustain those injuries from a gentle giant who was peacefully putting his hands up. None of these "slow-to-surface" facts made a difference....they still protested, rioted and looted. The screams for "justice" seem to be equated with "crucify him or else". So if it IS found that this Officer was doing his job and that he had indeed been attacked where does that leave Ferguson? Where does that leave us?

Something is terribly wrong in our nation where wrong is right and right is wrong. Our road is leading to a disastrous destination with our embracing of double-standards and political correctness. These incidents don't need to be fueled with race-baiters and hate, but handled with common sense and level heads. In this very moment we have more issues and problems than most of our older generations have dealt with......AND WITH VERY LITTLE LEADERSHIP. Our American "prefixes" need to be dropped and we need to look at each other as red blooded Americans and not African Americans, Hispanic Americans or White Americans. We need to shut the agitators out and start teaching our children responsibility and accountability so that they may pick up the pieces of what we are now destroying and rebuild this great nation.

We Interrupt this Chaotic World for a Laugh

Hilarious Laws
Things in our world seem so serious these days. I just needed some relief and could not pass up the opportunity to post some of these hilariously DUMB laws.

In Alabama it is illegal to wear a fake moustache in Church that causes laughter. You may also not flick boogers in the wind, not carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket. You CAN drive the wrong way on a one way street as long as you attach a lantern to the front of your automobile.

If you want to practice voodoo in Louisiana you must do it outside of city limits. While driving to the area outside city limits to cast your spells you can let your wife drive, but you must walk in front of her carrying a flag.

Please do not plan to hunt whales in Kansas as it is against the law.

It’s also illegal to hunt whales in Ohio, but only on Sundays. You also may not fish while intoxicated. Installation and use of slot machines in outhouses is also permitted….DARN!

It’s a No-No to push a moose from a moving airplane in Alaska.

Sleepy? Don’t get caught sleeping on a refrigerator in Pittsburgh, Pa. It is against the law. A special cleaning ordinance was also passed banning homemakers from sweeping any dirt under the rug in a dwelling. Wives must send a note with their husbands enabling them to purchase alcohol and beware…singing in a bathtub is illegal.

If you go to Texas and decide to have a beer make sure you are sitting. It is illegal to take more than 3 sips of beer while standing. It is also illegal to release any obnoxious odors in an elevator.

If you need a blue light bulb you will have to travel to another state other than Arkansas. You will also need to keep your alligator somewhere other than the bathtub since it is illegal to keep them there. Make sure your dogs are muzzled if you live in Little Rock because they are not allowed to bark after 6 p.m.

You may not be able to drink and fish in Ohio, but there is no law against it in Idaho….you just can’t fish from a camels back!!

In Massachusetts you may NOT give beer to hospital patients. You also may not allow a guerilla to ride in the back seat of any vehicle. Taxi drivers are not allowed to make love in the front seat of their taxis while during their shift….Aw…where’s the ACLU on that one??

Insomnia and Looting in St.Louis....Grab the popcorn

Oh what a night.....I'm up again totally awake and happen to click over a few sites to see that all HELL is breaking loose in Ferguson which is part of St. Louis from the best I can tell.

First of all the looting is a "protest"...and I use that term loosely....of a young black male being shot and killed by a white police officer. I haven't read all the stories or seen all of the news about it. What I have heard is he hit an officer in the head with a bottle and it was all still under investigation.

Sooooo because it's still under investigation I guess "they" think they can speed things up by tearing down crap and stealing everything and anything in site. I mean seriously I don't ever envision myself running through a busted window and filling my arms with stuff unless it was a SHTF scenario and I had to feed my family. In that case all laws would be out the window anyway.

Honestly, these people are busting through the Cracker Barrel, which I think is racist on their part because you KNOW they picked that place for the name...Cracker = Cracka?? Maybe they were just taking a snack break? Who knows? And one dude busted up in the tire store and walked out with ONE rim....ONE. Now everyone is going to know who he is when he's rollin and got one rim spinnin. Now you know Hibbett's was a big hit. I haven't seen that many people running through a shoe store since Belk's advertised boots for $19.99 on Black Friday. People were reaching and grabbing single shoes as they ran out the door. Everybody's gonna know you got your shoes at Hibbett's on riot night when you come strollin the street with mix-matched Jordans. I wonder how that glass felt to the woman who ran across it in her slippers with her hair rollers? Family Dollar and Convenience stores got equal treatment and they had their windows broken out for some .50 candy, smokes and Colts. Probably would've served them better to grab some rubber gloves, water and canned goods because you know that EBOLA is coming. Then I swear I saw someone carrying hair out of some cheap department store. Who steals hair????

It would all be laughable if it wasn't so sad. They aren't helping the kid or his family. They aren't helping at all. The ones that are hurt are the business owners and employees who had absolutely nothing to do with the incident. If they put half the effort into doing something positive in their community as they are in tearing it down they might have better results.

4 Deaths on planes in a week????

4 DEATHS ON PLANES IN ONE WEEK
Is this normal? Do we have this many random deaths on  aircraft in a week?

The first one was, of course, Mr. Sawyer. I will not provide links because they are on the other post.

Next we have a woman who boarded a flight from Honolulu to Phoenix (July 30) and died in flight. The newstory has not posted any kind of follow up on the cause of death. I wish I had saved some of the tweets that I saw because they mentioned she was coughing before her death. Could be anything....but a little on edge with all that's going on.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/woman-dies-airways-flight-hawaii-phoenix-article-1.1885635

The third one is really unsettling. A 72 yr old woman catches a flight from a infectious country and dies when plan lands in London. She was sweating profusely and vomiting....she died at a hospital shortly after. People reported she was fine when she boarded. A few hours later they come out and say negative for Ebola.

Houston police said the passenger, Benedict Sylvester Igwedike, of Lagos, Nigeria, died on board United flight 143 Tuesday morning. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer M. Miller says that Igwedike died in the air after the flight left Lagos. The plane was rerouted to Houston after it refueled in Dakar, Senegal. His death happened shortly after the flight departed Nigeria.

Tracking suspected Ebola in the U.S

I'm following several stories and threads about suspected cases in the U.S. At this point none have said that they are positive....just "testing". I'll be listing each case here and updating this post regularly on what I find. I will be including the results that are reported from testing and any further cases being reported so check back here regularly. This list will not include the two Doctors in Atlanta. Any "negative" results will be highlighted in yellow as I think it will be important to track those as well.

Keep in mind that Ebola and Malaria have very similar symptoms and are often confused on initial diagnoses. Also remember that in Africa there have been many cases where a patient has initially tested negative only to come back and test positive.

Six tested in NYC; News withheld from the media
CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta spoke about six patients in New York City that were tested for Ebola and one who had recently traveled to Africa that is undergoing tests for the Ebola virus on Monday’s broadcast of “Wolf.” Gupta said, “I would guess by tomorrow sometime we'll have a better idea” what malady the individual has. He also pointed out that even though the patient isn’t in isolation, “This isn't the kind of thing that they worry about spreading to other patients in the hospital,

COLUMBUS (Kate Murphy) -- A woman is being tested for Ebola at a local hospital.
The 46-year-old has been showing signs of the Ebola virus since returning from her trip to west Africa. She is currently being held in the intensive care unit. The test results should be in tomorrow.
Tests are Negative for Woman Tested Locally for Ebola  The Ohio Department of Health says test results for a woman who was showing symptoms of Ebola are back and are negative.

North Carolina
Around July 31 the Internet was buzzing about a hospital ER being roped off and a guard standing outside. It was originally said that there was a patient that had traveled to areas outside of the country where infectious disease was prevalent. The country was not named. It was originally said he came in with flu-like symptoms as well as stomach issues. It seemed like it was no time at all before they came out and said that all was fine. The Dr.'s said they didn't even test him for Ebola because his symptoms didn't match those of Ebola and sent him home. It is being reported that he had Malaria! D
ONT FORGET THAT EBOLA AND MALARIA ARE VERY SIMILIAR. READ THE SYMPTOMS AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS THREAD. In fact it is said that many times Doctors misdiagnose because the symptoms are so similar. We will just have to watch and see if anything comes of this.

EBOLA OUTBREAK.....connecting some dots

We are witnessing the worst Ebola outbreak in history. Most people have seen The Stand or Outbreak and we've heard of the disease but it has always been that nasty little bug that they have to deal with "over there." For the first time in history....as of tomorrow we will have the first two confirmed cases on U.S. soil and we brought them here. So lets first get a few basics out of the way

WHAT IS THE INCUBATION PERIOD AND HOW DO YOU CATCH IT
The "talking heads" on TV and in the mainstream media will tell you there is nothing to worry about. It would fizzle out here because of our hygiene. It's difficult to catch except by bodily fluids. It can't be spread by walking in a room with someone. etc. etc. etc. Oh and it's also said that you can't catch it unless you are with the person while they are symptomatic...vomiting, diarrhea. Well guess what? We are seeing all of that to be FALSE. Of course you can check the links to WHO and CDC and they will give you this run down but if you want to know the truth all you need to do is look at the eyewitness accounts of what is actually happening.

Incubation is between 2-22 days. That means the person can carry it that long before manifesting any symptoms. It is also widely rumored that the person affected bleeds out from every orifice, but that is not true in all cases. As I said they would have you believe that for those 2-22 days of incubation the infected can walk around and everyone is safe....WRONG.

http://ebola.emedtv....ion-period.html

Is a Person Contagious During the Ebola Incubation Period?
Even if a person exhibits no signs or symptoms of Ebola, he or she can still spread the virus during the Ebola incubation period. Once Ebola virus symptoms begin, the person can remain contagious for about three more weeks.

THIS WOULD MEAN THAT ANYONE THAT HAD CONTACT DURING INCUBATION PERIOD...NOT JUST AFTER SYMPTOMS START COULD BE INFECTED

Now with that in mind......lets start tracking. I'm going to make this as simple as possible with links and only snippets from articles.

PATRICK SAWYER
This gentleman is a Liberian/American and Finance Ministry Consultant in Liberia. His family lives in Minnesota with one of the highest concentrations of Liberians outside of the country itself. Basically it is alleged that he had been taking care of his sister who had Ebola. He went through two flights and died after departing the second. (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/ebola-doctors-told-prepare-global-3933249#ixzz38uwjfDw0)

You have to wonder with all of that air that is re-circulated and a man as ill as he was on the plan....what about all the others that were on the plane? Did anyone touch a seat he had touched after he may have wiped his brow from sweat pouring from his head? What about the attendant that may have walked by and served or disposed of any of his garbage or napkins? All of these people could be ticking Ebola bombs....where are they and how many people have they come into contact with? Oh but it gets crazy once he gets to the hospital..

Once at the hospital the staff reported Mr. Sawyer as behaving very strangely with rage and "indiscipline". He denied having any contact with anyone infected although he had been caring for his sister who died from Ebola. The medical staff still wanted to test him despite his wishes and did so.
"FrontPageAfrica has now learned that upon being told he had Ebola, Mr. Sawyer went into a rage, denying and objecting to the opinion of the medical experts. “He was so adamant and difficult that he took the tubes from his body and took off his pants and urinated on the health workers, forcing them to flee." http://frontpageafricaonline.com/index.php/news/2506-sawyer-s-final-hours-in-lagos-indiscipline-rage-strange

MINNESOTA
So what's so special about Minnesota? I'm sure it is a beautiful place to see. I love to travel, but you couldn't pay me to go anywhere near there for a while. Being the home to the largest community of Liberians in the U.S., you can imagine the fear that they are facing knowing that their loved ones are in a hot zone. There have been mission trips cancelled and the most disturbing of all is that many of these people have been sending money and tickets to try to fly their families out....to here....Minnesota. Take a second and glance over this article posted by the Star Tribune. It went so far as to say that Emergency Personnel and First Responders in the area would be wearing precautionary garb when dealing with cases of illness because of the fact that they just don't know what they could be potentially facing. http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/health/269766891.html

THE TWO AMERICAN MISSIONARIES
God Bless our Military and God Bless our Missionaries.....both who put their lives in harms way and daily sacrifice for God and Country.
Dr. Kent Brantley and his assistant Nancy Writebol were both working and treating Ebola patients in Monrovia and both have contracted the disease. Dr. Brantley has been noted for being meticulously careful and took double precautions which included: full body cover, multiple layer gloves, goggles and face protection. How is it that one so careful could get this monster through double protection?

What's more troubling is that Dr. Brantley's family were with him up until about 2 days before he became symptomatic. They flew home for a family function not knowing that he was indeed ill. They are on "fever watch". Remember what I posted in the beginning about the incubation time and being contagious above? Kind of makes you go hmmmmm..... God willing this woman and her babies don't get sick. I can't imagine the torment that she is going through.

After much criticism from the general public and some not-so-general like Donald Trump, Dr. Brantley was brought back on Saturday making him the first American with Ebola on American soil. The night before his departure he was listed as being in "grave" condition but I guess that 20 hr plane ride did some good because he walked right out of the back of that ambulance in his protective suit and into the building. Mrs. Writebol will arrive tomorrow and they will then be cared for at Emory University Hospital.

Now want to hear something else that will make you shake your head? What would you expect they would do with all of the waste from these patients? This would include the vomit and feces?? Well they are gonna just flush it! Yep....right into the public sewer system. "They" say there is no chance of problems arising from this. I'm still shaking my head on this one. Why not burn it to be sure? http://www.webmd.com/news/20140801/american-ebola-patients-returning-us?page=2

MEDICAL STAFF THAT CARED FOR MR. SAWYER
As of now there are 4 being tested with the Dr. who helped treat him coming back positive. I am not 100% certain but I believe that the number has gone up to eight.

AFRICAN ENVOY TO VISIT THE WHITE HOUSE
These are people from the INFECTED area and the Big O says it's on.  Invites have gone out to folks in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leon. What is concerning is that some of the diplomats who are supposed to be coming allegedly came into contact with Mr. Sawyer!
"Following a patient's death, contact tracing is conducted by health practitioners to track all who interacted with the victim to be placed in isolation and monitored for the required 21-day incubation period of the virus.

Following the death of a Liberian, Patrick Sawyer in Nigeria who tested positive of the virus Nigerian officials reported via the media a list of more than 40 persons, including its ambassador to Liberia as those who made contact with Sawyer prior to his death but the envoy has denied any contact with the late Sawyer.

Local and international media reported that Ambassador Chigozie Obi-Nnadozie and 58 others may have had contact with the late Patrick Sawyer on board the Asky flight to Nigeria but the envoy has denied the reports."

I understand that this is ALOT of info and I've tried to break it down and not bombard with a bunch on statistics and unnecessary details. I'm just trying to link things up and give you an idea of how all of this is unfolding and how we as Americans can possibly be affected by this. Just think of all of these people who are in contact with others and it forms a spider web so-to-speak. All of the talking heads seem to repeat the same script that just doesn't seem to coincide with what is actually happening.

Before I close this post I'd like to post a copy of an account that just took place over there. This will give you an idea of what chaos and hell really is.

Tokpa Tarnue, a local journalist on the scene told FrontPageAfrica Wednesday that the majority of the suspected patients were in a holding room at the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital while awaiting their departure for a treatment and isolation center in Foya when they abruptly left their room and moved into other wards that later resulted to all health workers escaping the hospital compound in deep fear.

According to the journalist, the suspected patients managed to leave the hospital premises and ran into various homes and streets, a situation that caused severe panic among citizens and residents of Voinjama who were likewise escaping from the patients fearing not to contract the deadly Ebola virus. He told FrontPageAfrica that for several hours Voinjama was like a ghost town as many residents escaped the city while others locked themselves in their homes.

Said the local journalist: “Everybody left. They had suspected Ebola patients in a holding room that is not well equipped. They are normally kept there before they are taken to Foya. In the process of doing that, those suspected patients left their wards and stating entering the children's ward and other places while they were vomiting and releasing feces at the same time. Based on that the entire hospital staff all left including the doctors and nurses. Up to now they have not gone back to work.”
